We are pleased to announce that our office established a strategic alliance with BEIJING RUNHE LAW OFFICE in China, which was founded by our Chinese law advisor, Mr. Wang.

Teaming up with Chinese tax accountants and certified public accountants as well as Japanese ones, BEIJING RUNHE LAW OFFICE and we will cooperate to provide international legal advices to foreign companies doing or withdrawing business in China, such as establishing joint venture in China, or closing or liquidating its business in China.

Civil revitalisation procedures of a listed company on the Tokyo Stock Exchange filed by Haraguchi International Law Office in April 2012 have completed with no delay. Commencement of the civil revitalisation plan provided by our office has been approved and closure of the civil revitalisation procedures has been approved by a court.

We believe that experience and know-how obtained from this case would contribute to our clients, and we are willing to improve our skills and knowledge to provide smoother and more prompt civil revitalisation service.

Our founding attorney, Kaoru Haraguchi, gave a lecture about sexual harassment and workplace harassment (abuse of authority at work) at one of the companies he serves as an advisor. Giving familiar examples, he outlined what kind of issues lie behind the act of harassment and how both the company and individual offender would become responsible, and presented fundamental legal knowledge and the possible solution to prevent such harassment.

We will continue to commit ourselves to help prevent and settle harassment conflicts with high-quality legal advice so that all our clients can enjoy better working environments.

Mr. Watanabe spent more than 35 years at the Japan Fair Trade Commission, during which he took very important role at JFTC, such as the Chief of the Research Section of the Trade Department, the Chief of the Information Administration Section of the Investigation Department, and the Chief of the Second Section of the Investigation Department.

We are pleased to announce that our office entered into a strategic alliance with the United Partners Law Firm in Mongolia.

The United Partners Law Firm was established on September 27, 2012 and has a special counselor, Mr. Purevnyam, who is our strategic partner over a period of many years (he is such one of the most prominent lawyers that he has been a president of the Association of Mongolian Advocates since 2002, a justice of the Constitutional Court of Mongolia since 2007.).

We and the United Partners will cooperate to provide international legal assistance for development of Mongolian and success of Mongolian national projects such as to develop mineral resources and to build railway networks.

We are pleased to announce that the Former Supreme Court Justice, Mr.Takehisa Fukazawa, has recently become a special advisor to our office.

After graduating from the faculty of the Chuo University in 1957 and being officially registered as an attorney-at-law in 1961, he was appointed to a lot of key posts such as not only the chief of the Tokyo Bar Association, but also the vice-president of the Japan Federation of Bar Associations and the Supreme Court Justice from 2000 to 2004, which should be summarized as the most successful career in legal professions in Japan.

We are sure that his supports as a special advisor will strengthen our expertise in the appellate litigation practice as well as in other civil, criminal, labor and business cases.

With his supports and guidance, we are committed to continue providing higher legal services to all our clients in a timelier manner.

We are pleased to inform you that Mr. Jing was appointed as a chief counsel in relation to China Practices to our firm.

After graduating from the famous high school in Beijing where many children of the top bureaucrats of the Communist Party in China, Mr. Jin studied abroad in a Japanese University funded by the Chinese Government.

Mr. Jin has been working for one of the largest trading companies in Japan, Taiwan corporation and state owned company in China.

He now owns a couple of firms and does business in China and Japan.

As he is qualified as a certified accountant in the United States and his wife is Japanese, he speaks Japanese (native level) and English (fluent).

He has a wide and strong relationship with the governmental officials and professionals (lawyers and accountants) in China. We are currently developing a relationship with many important people in China through Mr. Jin and deepen our understandings of both legal/business system and culture in China, which is one of the most important countries for Japan in coming two decades.
